That’s right, from September 9 to November 5, Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest will take place across nine weekends, so it’s time to dust out the dresses and your lederhosen (leather pants).
The 53rd season of the traditional Oktoberfest festival brings together the mountain charm of Big Bear with actual German customs, charismatic figures decked out in traditional garb, German bands blasting out oompah-pah tunes, and the Chicken Dance, a fan favorite!

It will be held on 15 October

The regular entry fee is $20, but children under the age of 12 can enjoy completely free entry!
- Fairplex Oktoberfest
It will take place till 21 October
This event will include German music, tribute bands, and a DJ.
This event has an age limit of 21 years old and higher.
Payment by card is the only option for purchasing alcohol, parking, and admission costs.
The entry fees for this event are $14 in advance, $17 on the day of the event, and $22 at the gate.
- Long Beach Oktoberfest
It will take place till 22 October
This family-friendly event is being presented by The Mosaic in Long Beach.
Apart from the renowned Beer Stein Holding competition, there will be German food, a Beer Garden, games, picture opportunities, live music, and many more things to enjoy at the event.
Entry to this event is completely free!
- Wurstküche
This event will take place on Saturdays and Sundays until 22 October
This gastropub in Venice is organizing a three-weekend-long Bavarian festival that starts on Saturday, September 23.
Delicious food, yodeling, lederhosen, and live music are all part of the celebrations.
Enjoy the tasty hot link served over onions and peppers with rabbit and rattlesnake.
While enjoying a selection of German and Belgian beers on tap, take in some yodeling and live German music.

It will take place from Thursdays through Sundays until 5 November

It will take place from Wednesdays through Sundays, between 17 September – 5 November

Following the changes brought about within the LAX, LAMP will also include the construction of 4 major pieces outside LAX in addition to the APM (Automatic People Mover).
These are:
- AMC (Airport Metro Connector)
- conRAC (Consolidated Rent-A-Car Facility)
- ITF West (Intermodal Transportation Facility – West)
- ITF East (Intermodal Transportation Facility – East)
APM (Automatic People Mover)
The APM functions as the key hub of the overall strategy because passengers arriving at conRAC, ITF-West, or ITF-East have no way of getting to the terminals. We are concerned that until the APM is over, extra shuttles from ITF-West will add to the already dense traffic at LAX.Once completed, the APM will connect all of the aforementioned elements with the terminals via three stations distributed around the main terminal area.
AMC (Airport Metro Connector)
The Crenshaw LAX line and the updated LAX Metro Green line will both be located inside the AMC. The Green Line follows the 105’s east and west course to Norwalk in the east before curving south and currently terminating at Redondo Beach. To get to the AMC, passengers going from Downtown LA can take the Silver Line to the Harbour Motorway Metro stop and then change to the Green Line.
You can then easily board the Automatic People Mover(APM) at the AMC and ride easily to your terminal.
conRAC (Consolidated Rent-A-Car Facility)
The second most recent addition will be a 5.3 million square foot, $2 billion vehicle rental facility conRAC, that will be situated at the intersection of Century Boulevard and Aviation Boulevard. Here, all of the automobile rental companies will have offices, and travelers can access the conRAC using the APM.
ITF West (Intermodal Transportation Facility – West)
It will allow the parking of almost 4500 more vehicles after its completion, and can also be considered as the preferred location to be picked up and dropped off for the travelers.
ITF East (Intermodal Transportation Facility – East)
The ITF-East will be situated directly behind the conRAC on a 21-acre site at the northeast corner of Aviation Boulevard and 98th Street and used primarily by private and commercial vehicles traveling to the airport, even though the conRAC will be the final stop of the APM (Automated People Mover) on the east. It will be 3.1 million square feet in size, have 5 floors, and 8,300 parking places.
ITF East will also act as the Metro Crenshaw and Green Lines’ connecting station, which will be a big plus for LA’s fans of public transportation.
LAMP Completion – Arrival of better conditions at LAX
Until the construction of all four major pieces outside LAX in 2023, the traffic situation and, as a result, the transportation situation at LAX will be challenging for passengers and transportation companies seeking to get the passengers to their flights on time and with as little hassle and delay as possible.

Changes for Pickup at LAX (LAXit)
By now, you may have heard of the new developments at LAX and the Automated People Mover opening in 2023. In the meantime, changes have been made to the pickup process at LAX for both TNC and TCP drivers.
While the drop-off process remains unchanged, LAX-it (pronounced LA Exit) is billed as a convenient and centralized area for arriving passengers to be picked up by a taxi or ride app service, alleviating traffic in the Central Terminal Area (CTA).
Must-know Details for Riders
LAX-it is an amenity-rich area located east of Terminal 1. LAX-it is walkable from terminals 1, 2, and 7 or accessible via a free, dedicated shuttle from all LAX terminals. The shuttles can be found at dedicated stops at each terminal on the lower/arrivals level, as to not compete with other airport traffic. Shuttles will come every 3 to 5 minutes during peak hours.
It’s an exciting time for the Opoli Family as LAX-it opens with a prime location for Opoli users. Oploi loading areas 1A and 1B are located just west of the shuttle drop-off area, complete with cellphone charging stations, Wi-Fi, and food trucks nearby. The Opoli location allows drivers and passengers to connect seamlessly, so passengers can easily hop in and go.
Must-know Details for Drivers
The new LAX-it shuttle system and staging for rideshare services launch October 29th. This brings several changes for drivers.
Changes for TNC pickup are as follows:
- All Pickups will be handled at LAX-it, which is located just east of Terminal 1. Pickups can no longer be done curbside at any Terminal. Additionally, all drivers will have to go through staging to receive a passenger request, with no exceptions.
- Please follow the signs towards 1A and 1B at LAX-it, as those are designated zones for all Opoli pickups. We encourage you, as well as all customers, to use 1A, whenever possible, this will ease the pickup and speed up the passenger/driver identification process.
- All drop-offs will be handled as before!
Changes for TCP pickup are as follows:
- Curbside pickup at all Terminals is still allowed; however, the location has changed. All TCP pickups will be on the lower level; at the outer curb, see attached document (LAX Advisory Curb Flip TCP).
- All drop-offs will be done as before; please see the attached documents (Terminal B Pickup) for additional information about the added pick up location in Parking Structure 3.
